Discovery Insure's Vitality Car Rating - Boost your drive

By analysing detailed vehicle information, accident history and driving behaviour, we reduce information gaps in the second-hand vehicle market. This helps everyone involved understand the vehicle's condition and receive or pay a fair price for it.

Boost your vehicle's resale value by up to 15% with the Vitality Car Rating It's not what you drive - it's how you drive.

Vehicles on Vitality Drive will get a score out of 1,000 based on their condition. Based on this score, vehicles will get a rating where vehicles in the best condition get a rating of 5.

How we calculate your Vitality car score

The vehicle score is determined by considering different factors about its condition and how it was driven. The three categories considered are the accident history, driving and mileage type.

Using your Vitality Car Rating

1. Obtain your Vitality Car Rating certificate
   • Open the Discovery Insure app and scroll down to Vitality Car Rating.
   • Click generate new certificate under the vehicle you want to sell.
   • Ensure your vehicle has no pending claims to avoid delays in using the certificate.
2. Follow the online valuation journeys with our partners
   • Click on the Weelee or Motus logo on the Vitality Car Rating certificate or go on their websites.
   • Fill in your details and select that you are a Discovery Insure client with Vitality Drive.
3. Receive your Vitality Car Rating boost
   • At the end of the quoting journey with your chosen dealership partner, the quote document will indicate the base value of the vehicle and the boosted value through Vitality Car Rating. This is an indicative offer and may be subject to a physical inspection.
   • The certificate will boost the resale value of your vehicle and is applied to the base price minus any necessary repairs.

Notes:
To qualify for the boost the vehicle must:

• Be on Vitality Drive and tracking (this means we are able to collect driving information for that vehicle) for at least one year to qualify for this benefit.
• Have a full service history that is up to date.
• Be  in good condition, with no major structural or mechanical damage.
  • The boost of up to 15% will be applied to the vehicles base price, prior to any price negotiations.
  • Vehicles on the Core Plan do not qualify for this benefit.
  • The boost will be pro-rated based on the proportion of the vehicle's lifetime for which we have data.
  • For example, if a vehicle is five years old, but has only been insured with Discovery Insure for four years, you would get 80% of the boost.
  • The maximum boost that you can receive is capped at R50,000.
  • The transaction will be subject to the dealership's standard terms and conditions.
  • Antique and classic vehicles do not qualify for this benefit.
