How to enter the prize draw

One lucky Discovery Health Medical Scheme member with a Vitality membership will walk away with R20,000 to spend at Sportsmans Warehouse through Personal Health Pathways. To enter the prize draw, simply activate Personal Health Pathways and track 5,000 steps a day three times a week from 6 June to 3 July 2026.

You have from Saturday morning until Friday at midnight to track your steps. Every week you track 5,000 steps on three different days is another entry in the prize draw. Reach your target for four weeks and you have four chances to win!

Get started

You don't need to be an elite athlete to get your steps in. Link your fitness device or the health app on your smartphone in the Discovery app and start getting rewarded for every step. Here's how:

Activate Personal Health Pathways

Log in to the Discovery app and activate Personal Health Pathways to get started.

Make sure you have a compatible fitness device linked to your profile.

  1. Select Vitality at the bottom of the app screen.
  2. Select the Health tile at the top of the screen.
  3. Select Devices and apps under the Get active tab.
  4. Tap Link a device or app.
  5. Select your specific device or app from the list, enter your login details and allow permissions for Discovery to access your workout information.

Already on Personal Health Pathways?

Log in to the Discovery app to make sure you have a compatible fitness device linked to your profile.

  1. Select Vitality at the bottom of the app screen.
  2. Select the Health tile at the top of the screen.

10 easy ways to take 5,000 steps a day

Pick 2 or 3 from the list below to get started! Get a lot of phone calls? Walk and talk. Let the sound of your phone ringing be your signal to move.

  • Love audiobooks? Walk and listen. Around the house or in the park, take your reading on the road.
  • Work in an office? Suggest a walking meeting and get yourself and your colleagues out of your seats.
  • Turn your coffee break into a walk date. Invite your friends or teammates and make walking your default activity.
  • Who said you had to stay still when you're watching TV or brushing your teeth? Walk on the spot and watch your steps add up.
  • Go window shopping. Turn your visit to the mall, farmer's market or thrift store into an opportunity to walk.
  • Park far away. Forget the best parking spot. Choose the one that helps you take the most steps
  • Skip the elevator or escalators and take the stairs instead.
  • Get outside. Invite a friend or take a pet and walk in your local park or to your favourite coffee shop.
  • Finally, break it up. You don't have to take 5,000 steps in one go. Rather take small, regular walk breaks to reach your goal for the day.
